Role of SCORE in Business Mentoring
The Senior Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE), is a national organization of volunteer business mentors providing free advice and expertise to aspiring and existing business owners. Serving small businesses, startups, and entrepreneurs, SCORE is funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
The senior executives in the SCORE program bring experience from a wide variety of industries and professions, including finance, management, sales, and technology. SCORE is a powerful resource for entrepreneurs, providing free and personalized counseling, resources, and business mentoring.
SCORE volunteers assist entrepreneurs with every aspect of starting and operating a business, from writing business plans to gaining access to financing, marketing, and more. SCORE also facilitates workshops, live and online events, and networking opportunities designed to support small business owners and help them reach their goals.
How to Access SCORE Resources and Services
Access to all of SCORE’s resources and services is free. Business owners can get started with SCORE by creating an online profile and attending a live or virtual workshop. They can also attend any of numerous business-focused webinars or workshops hosted by SCORE.
Business owners can also connect directly with a mentor through SCORE’s online mentoring program. Mentors provide one-on-one encounter sessions while offering counsel over the telephone or through email for entrepreneurs who are unable to attend live workshops.
